Privacy Information

Commitment to Privacy Protection. Womens Heart Advantage is committed to providing you with quality health care information. We are also firmly committed to respecting the privacy of your general and personally identifiable health information. Womens Heart Advantage will not share or sell any personally identifiable information we gather to any company, organization or person outside of Womens Heart Advantage. Any general personal information you voluntarily provide when using this Web site, such as your name, address, e-mail address as part of the registration process, or credit card information for on-line shopping, will only be used to provide you with information that you specifically request from this Web site, and for our internal confidential analysis of aggregate user data, such as computing the total number and regional locations of users. We and the third parties participating in the site will not use your general or personally identifiable health information without your prior consent. You can review and correct your general personal and personally identifiable information at any time; either directly through use of data input screens, or indirectly by submitting a request to the site Webmaster as described in the last section below, "Questions or Comments." The key exceptions to these privacy protection practices are that information you may provide in live online discussions in chat rooms, or information you may post on bulletin boards, cannot be protected. You should think carefully before disclosing any general personal information or personally identifiable health-related information when using them.

Health-Related Personally Identifiable Information. If we, or our third party content providers, collect health-related personally identifiable information, we will only use it for the purposes for which you as a reasonable consumer would expect us to use it, or as agreed to by you. We will not disclose your health-related personal information to an unrelated third party or for unrelated purposes without first obtaining your prior consent. We will use an explicit "opt-in" procedure in which no action will be taken unless you indicate your consent.

Changes in the use of Health-Related Personally Identifiable Information. When we want to make significant changes to our Privacy Policy that would affect our use of the health-related personally identifiable information we collect, we will give notice to you and all users by posting the changes to this Web site 30 days prior to implementing the change. Notice of any significant changes will be provided on the home page of this site. We will not make use of information we previously gathered from you prior to a significant change in this Privacy Policy without first obtaining your consent for any new uses. If you wish to decline, or "opt-out," of any changes to our use of your information, you may decline by submitting a request to the site Webmaster as described in the last section below, "Questions or Comments." We may also make non-significant changes to this Privacy Policy that will not affect our use of your personally identifiable information. We will post all changes on this Web site. You should periodically check this Privacy Policy for updates. We will maintain this information until you request that we remove, update or change your information.

Privacy and Third Parties. Where third parties such as sponsors, information providers, and health assessment software tools providers, have access to health-related personally identifiable information from this Web site, our agreements with these third parties will follow these privacy principles in giving you notice and choice with respect to their access and use. Where we have relationships with third parties, we will adopt procedures to tell you if third parties have access to personally identifiable information about you from our site. We will take appropriate precautions to prevent inadvertent disclosures of personally identifiable information to third parties and will take immediate steps to eliminate such disclosures, if they occur, once they have come to our attention.

Cookies represent bits of information that a Web site may transfer to a visitor's hard disk for the purpose of record keeping. Cookies help us evaluate your use of our Web site, such as the kinds of information you want to see and the kinds you most likely never will want to read. Cookie technology enables Web sites such as ours to ask for your registration and preferences only once. During subsequent visits, you will not necessarily be required to sign in again. Cookies let us avoid showing you the same sponsorship messages repeatedly and do not contain or retain personal information. However, they do let us relate your use of the site to information that you have specifically and knowingly provided to Womens Heart Advantage. The types of information we collect includes IP address, browser type, referring URL, domain names, access times and page views. Please note that Womens Heart Advantage does NOT continue to track your movement after you leave the site. Two types of cookies can be used to access this site

A per-session cookie is a temporary cookie that will be erased once you have finished viewing our site. By accepting a per-session cookie we want you to know that you may not be able to use some functionality of the site.

In order to set the type of cookie your browser will accept, you must manually make those changes in your browser settings.

  • Links. This Web site includes electronic links over the Internet to various Web sites run by third parties, such as other health information providers and sponsors. These "click-on" links are available at your option for your convenience to allow you to further expand your health care information.
