Get Regular Checkups
The best way to prevent CVD is to take an
active role in your health, and having regular physical
exams is an important way to keep your health on track for
life. Your physician may test your blood pressure to screen
for hypertension. He or she also may check your blood glucose
level to screen for diabetes, a major risk factor for heart
disease.
Be prepared for your office visit. Make a list of any concerns
or questions that you have about your health. Also bring
a list of all medications that you’re currently taking,
including over-the-counter products and supplements.
